Confirm the right to alter the route.
If your stairs or entrance are rented, shared or part of a condominium property, ask who must approve the proposed installation. Do not assume permission follows from the lift fitting inside the measured space.
Ask for a plan showing attachment points, rail ends and how other people will pass the equipment. Share that scope with the relevant owner or property representative before ordering.
Keep any permission and reinstatement terms with your Downtown Whitby quotation. This guide does not establish that a particular property or shared stair is suitable.
Three questions for your Downtown Whitby comparison
- Whose approval is needed for this exact route?
- What fixing and access details must be reviewed?
- Who is responsible for removal and reinstatement?
Before requesting an assessment
Describe the route and the rooms you want to reach. Give your actual ON address and ask the provider to confirm service there. The person who will use the chair should be involved in a demonstration and the final choice of seat, controls and stopping positions.
If you are helping someone else, use the printable checklist together. You do not need to choose a model before discussing the route, but the installer needs measurements before confirming fit.
